Flexwear Vision Monthly Disposable Contact Lenses

my 3 pair of Flex Wear Vision contact lenses

I could have bought my new set of contact lens from Star Finder Optical because it was there where I bought my new red eyeglasses. They have however, no available stock for my eye grade which by the way remained the same since 2010! It was a sweet surprise! That's a big deal for me considering I'm working infront of computer most of the time, everyday. I guess the eye exercise helps maintain my eye grade :)

So off I went to Executive Optical in Festival Mall and decided to purchase a box of Flexwear Vision containing 6 pieces (3 pairs) of clear lenses for Php600+. I learned about this cheap contact lens from my previous mall strolling. My previous contacts, which is Precision UV is way more expensive compared with the wallet friendly Flexwear. The contacts is only good for 1 month as this one's disposable but I have used my previous brand of contacts for 2-3 months since I'm not wearing it everyday, and it works just fine. My friend told me she too wears Flexwear for more than 1 month. What's also good about this recent purchase is I get a Php100 off on my next contact lens purchase (within the next 90 days). I was so happy to have saved a lot of moolah because of Star Finder and EO Executive Optical. My eyes and wallet couldn't be happier :)

Affordable Eyeglasses from Star Finder Optical

It has taken me probably more than 5 long years to finally say hello to a new pair of eyeglasses and a new box of contact lenses. The shopping part been long overdue considering that old pair of eyeglasses has a lower eye grade compared with my contact lens grade. So last weekend, I finally decided to give my eyes a fresh and fun bff. ^_^

Here in the Philippines, some famous optical shops include EO Executive Optical, Ideal Vision, Sarabia Optical  and Sabater Optical. I have purchased and availed service from all these optical shops in my 18 years of wearing eyeglasses. Being a member of the so called 'four-eyed' club can be really expensive as I have to buy a pair of eyeglasses every time my eye grade increases and there's contact lenses and the regular purchase of eye solution. Most of these optical shops offers lens and frames valued at Php2,500 or more. Heck, I was determined to search for the cheapest pair of eyeglasses in the Philippines, of course without sacrificing comfort. Great thing I was with a fellow 'four eyed friend' at Festival Mall in Alabang and she dragged me to what first seems to be a Korean eyewear shop.

There we entered Star Finder Optical. Customers can easily feel the KPop vibe inside the store with all those posters of Korean celebrities wearing trendy eyeglasses, Korean customers and Korean owners. I immediately asked for affordable eyeglass choices and the smiling lady guided me to the right side of the shop, it's where you'll see more customers trying on some eyeglasses. Php2,000 is my benchmark and the lady showed me some really good stylish eyeglasses with frames (no lens) as affordable as Php500!

Lensflo: Cheapest Contact Lens Solution

I have probably used more than 10 different 3-in-1 contact  lens solutions with price ranging no less than Php200. One leaisure time while strolling at the mall with a fellow four-eyed club member and while window shopping for a good pair of eyeglasses, I chanced upon Lensflo, the cheapest eye contact solution I ever bought. I want to pinch myself hard for not visiting EO Executive Optical and discovering Lensflo when I started wearing and buying contact lenses.  I forgot the exact price of their 360ml box but it's more or less on Php60 range. True enough, EO offers some of the the cheapest eye care products in the Philippines.

This multi-purpose solution disinfects, cleans, rinses and stores. It's everything you need for your contact lenses. I remember before when mom used 3 small different bottles when wearing and removing her contacts. Good thing I don't have to go through that tedious process.

Is buying Expensive Sunglasses Really Worth It?

A few weeks ago, a big package arrived in the house. The box came from my dad, an OFW based in Qatar. Prior to the arrival of the package, he already said that he bought 4 pairs of authentic Ray-Ban Sunglasses. I was surprised to learn about him buying an accessory which I think is too damn expensive. I saw the brand's product price and online and was kinda taken aback - I have never worn any sunnies this expensive!

white Aviator Ray Ban Sunglasses

The sunglasses were bought inside a US Military camp in Qatar and dad and his co-workers got a pretty good deal (sure pays to know someone from the inside), way too cheaper compared when buying it here in the Philippines.

Ever since I started commuting to school, I have been faithfully wearing sunglasses during the grueling long drive. I don't see the practice as a way of showing off or just to look fancy good, but wearing sunnies for me is a need especially when you have the Philippine sun that can get pretty intense sometimes. Most of my past sunglasses were either bought from Hawaiian Sun or Fly Shades, they're dirt cheap compared to any authentic Ray-Ban products but they're nice and comfortable to wear plus they're stylish too. If anything goes wrong while wearing those sunglasses and they end up breaking, I would be like "Uh oh..." but I wouldn't really be bothered much. But the thought of getting some possible scratches on my new Ray-Ban would be like "Oh No!!!"

What a Good Sunglasses Should Provide:

  • protection from ultraviolet rays in sunlight
  • protection from intense light
  • protection from glare
  • eliminate specific frequencies of light

It's not about the style nor the popularity of a branded sunglasses that one should consider when getting a good quality pair of shades. Consumers spend over $30 billion each year on sunglasses alone so being the best selling brand of shades on the market today, I know Ray-Ban sunglasses wouldn't have become a global phenomenon if not for their high performance and rock-glam sunglasses.

You see I'm not really into ridiculously expensive stuff (see world's most expensive sunglasses), but since it's here anyway, this poorly visioned blogger deserves the best possible eye care once in a while. I guess I just have to be thankful for the gift and pray that this expensive Ray-Ban shades which thankfully fits my face would serve me long enough I could bring it along with me on my never ending quest for outdoor travels.
